Description

This is for the host who believes soup deserves a proper entrance.

The Consomme Bowl Plaza Athenee by Tania Bulhões comes from the first porcelain collection created for Plaza Athénée, inspired by the hotel’s romantic history and crafted in Limoges. Its low, rounded form and two looping handles give the classic consommé bowl a rather glamorous sense of ceremony. A painterly red motif wraps the exterior, while fine gold-toned lines trace the rim and base. The result carries French elegance with the modern Brazilian spirit at the heart of the collection.

Bring it out for an intimate dinner, or give it to the design lover who notices every last detail.

Care

Gold banding and hand painting mean no microwave, ever, and no dishwasher if you want the gold to stay gold. Warm water, mild soap, dry it properly, put it back in rotation. The body itself was fired past anything your kitchen can do to it. The decoration is the delicate part, and even that survives ordinary Tuesdays.

“Inspired by nature and the world"

Tania Bulhões opened a small shop in Uberaba, in the interior of Minas Gerais, in 1989. It sold plates, paintings, whatever came in. Somewhere in there she worked out that the plates were the point. São Paulo followed in 1991.
