Description

This is for the host who treats even the smallest plate as part of the story.

The Bread Plate Portrait by Tania Bulhões brings a painterly quietness to the table, with illustrated motifs inspired by French artistry and a sense of collected charm. Each piece feels like a fragment of a larger tableau, designed to sit alongside linens, glassware, and food in a way that feels intentional rather than decorative. The surface carries a soft narrative quality, where color and composition meet in subtle balance.

Perfect for bread service, small bites, or dessert courses that deserve a moment of attention. A plate that feels less like tableware, and more like a detail in a well-composed scene.

Care

Gold banding and hand painting mean no microwave, ever, and no dishwasher if you want the gold to stay gold. Warm water, mild soap, dry it properly, put it back in rotation. The body itself was fired past anything your kitchen can do to it. The decoration is the delicate part, and even that survives ordinary Tuesdays.

“Inspired by nature and the world"

Tania Bulhões opened a small shop in Uberaba, in the interior of Minas Gerais, in 1989. It sold plates, paintings, whatever came in. Somewhere in there she worked out that the plates were the point. São Paulo followed in 1991.
