Description
This is for the host who believes even the bread course deserves a little theatre.
The Bread Plate Plaza Athenee by Tania Bulhões comes from her first porcelain collection for Plaza Athénée, inspired by the hotel’s romantic history. Crafted in Limoges, it carries French elegance with a modern Brazilian sensibility. Its shallow round form, painterly red-and-cream surface and fine gold-toned rim give the smallest place setting a confident point of view.
Set it beside the dinner plate for warm rolls, a pat of butter or the last good bite. A lovely design-lover gift for someone who notices what happens at the edges of the table.
Care
Gold banding and hand painting mean no microwave, ever, and no dishwasher if you want the gold to stay gold. Warm water, mild soap, dry it properly, put it back in rotation. The body itself was fired past anything your kitchen can do to it. The decoration is the delicate part, and even that survives ordinary Tuesdays.

“Inspired by nature and the world"
Tania Bulhões opened a small shop in Uberaba, in the interior of Minas Gerais, in 1989. It sold plates, paintings, whatever came in. Somewhere in there she worked out that the plates were the point. São Paulo followed in 1991.
