Nautilus Shell Gravy Boat
Product Description

This one is for the person who serves gravy like it's an event. The Nautilus Shell Gravy Boat by 1922 Tavares is a real nautilus shell set in silver, made by the goldsmith of Póvoa de Varzim, a fishing town in Portugal where the same family has been working precious metals at the same address since 1922. The shell holds the gravy, the silver does the pouring, and the table does the talking.

Because the sea grew the shell and the workshop only added the handle, the lip, and the polished foot, no two of these exist. Expect natural variation in the mother-of-pearl, and expect someone to ask where it came from before the first course is over. It looks at home next to candlelight, a roast worth the effort, and people who stay past dessert.

Made to be used, not displayed. A soft cloth after dinner keeps the silver bright, and the shell asks only to stay out of the dishwasher.

Care Instructions

hand wash, dry with a soft cloth, never the dishwasher
